What's the Point of New Year Resolutions?

What is the point of making New Year Resolutions?

I’m not asking that as a negative.

Drafting this traditional January list is an activity I’ve practiced many, many times.

Sadly, 80% of resolutions fail by February 1st.

The clock is ticking!

Maybe I sometimes get the focus or target wrong.

Maybe there’s not enough credible action behind the goals and what are really more commitments than resolutions.

Regardless, I don’t want to waste time.

You probably don't want to either.

With life being the great exchange, that transaction happens in small doses each and every day.

Make no mistake, goals matter.

But so do:

👉 Faith

👉 Family

👉 My health

👉 Personal growth

👉 Friends

👉 Community

Hopefully, the changes I pursue fortifies what truly matters.

The strength of the resolve lies within the reasons why.

That kind of motivation can last long past January!

"New year—a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately, we write it. The choice is ours.” —Alex Morritt
