I know not everyone will. Patriotism in America is down and only 38% of people say they are extremely proud of their country.
That's a shame.
I'm firmly in the other camp.
I am still glad that, by God’s grace, He allowed me to be born in the greatest nation on the face of the earth.
I do have quite a few issues with my government, but I love my country.
Born in freedom, graced by God, and protected by the greatest military force in the world, America is still that “shining city on a hill” for the rest of the world to see, as Ronald Reagan called it.
Of course, Jesus originally used those words to describe the church. (Matthew 5: 14-16)
Today, on our nation’s birthday, perhaps it’s better to shine, not whine!
