Pick Up Your Oars

Do you sail?

I haven't done much of it, and one of the times I did I wound up overboard.

That wasn't the boat's fault though.

It can almost be magical to see the wind blow against the canvas, the boat follow the natural source of forward movement, and sit back and enjoy the moment.

Same in life and work. There are days when we feel the wind at our back, the sun on our face, and we cruise along with a smile.

Maybe you're picturing that with even a summer tune in the background. :)

But for the days and times there's no wind...

You and I know there are more of these, when we must provide our own locomotion.

And it could be on days our arms are tired and we just don't want to pick those oars up again.

But vision and dreams don't care about our feelings or nagging fatigue.

Push that aside and row.

Don't wait for the wind.

It might not arrive for a while.

But the oars are right there, my friend.

Pick them up. And row.
